Girl Guiding at St. Pauls
As a Church we are honoured to sponsor one of the local Guiding groups which comprises of Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section girls and young ladies. St. Paul's invites all the units within the Church to attend regular Parade Services, led by our Minister whenever possible, where badges of achievements and special moments are shared with the entire Church.

7th Sowerby Bridge Brownies
Welcome to our Brownies. Girls join our unit from the age of 7 upwards, they can then progress up to Guides when they reach the age of ten.
“At Brownies our Primary goal is to let the girls have fun!”
“I choose to volunteer at Brownies because I wanted to make a difference to children in our community. I wanted to help them believe in themselves, know that they can achieve anything if they work at it and to help them gain in confidence with who they are and what they can do.” ( Rachael 2019)
What do we do
At Brownies we like to do things that are exciting, we play games, learn new skills, sing songs, try new hobbies, get creative and go on trips and camps. We work with the community and fund-raise for special causes.
Our goal is to make our unit girl led. The girls make decisions and choose what topics we do, they vote, they work individually, together in small groups called sixes and as a whole unit. On occasions they attend activities on a huge scale involving brownies from all around the county and country.
Making new friends
Girls get the opportunity to make new friends and gain their confidence, they learn about respecting others beliefs, and that everyone is unique and individual. They also learn to work as a team.
The girls work towards badges covering topics including know myself, express myself, be well, take action, have adventures and skills for my future.
The girls can do interest badges at home covering a huge range of exciting topics. The girls love to wear these with great pride and achievement.
They have opportunity to carry these skills on to guides, Young Explorers, and into adult life.
